Save the Children is addressing the most pressing needs of India's children. 59 robust programmes are being delivered in 19 states of India. We are one of the most influential, organised, well- networked, resourceful and impactful NGOs.
Children are the most "voiceless" and "unheard" segment of our population and therefore, are the most vulnerable. They continue to suffer even more due to issues like lack of health care, malnutrition, poor hygiene, illiteracy, and exploitation. As responsible citizens, we should recognise the issues children are facing and work together to address them.
Save the Children has changed the lives of more than 1 crore Indian children since 2008. We work for providing equal opportunities in all spheres of life including education, nutrition, and healthcare without any discrimination on the basis of caste, class, religion, race or gender. We also provide life-saving humanitarian aid during natural disasters to the most deprived children of India.
Our core is our programmes, and we do whatever it takes to help children flourish in life. Our programmes are being implemented in the remotest corners of the country including the most disaster-torn regions, conflict zones, and slums. Our work has benefitted lakhs of children in India. Last year alone we reached 22.51 lakh children through our programmes.
Our projects can be bucketed into five thematic areas:
- Child Protection
- Health & Nutrition
- Humanitarian Response & Disaster Risk Reduction
- Child Poverty
Children form the epicentre of all the work we do and we go by the mantra of "Children First" in all our projects. Please browse through the individual sections on our major programmes.
