April is the child sexual abuse prevention month. But what does it actually mean for us? Sadly, in our country, we don’t get to hear many conversations about this grave subject. But nonetheless, it needs to be spoken about, people need to know how bad the situation is and how can we take steps to tackle this menace. Mr. Prabhat Kumar, National Thematic Manager, Child Protection from Save The Children says, “Ministry of Women and Child Development did a study on child sexual abuse in the year 2007 and the figures were definitely alarming. I’d say there is an urgent need to update such a study to know the current extent and nature of the problem”
