Welcome note

Welcome note
Dear Friends,

On behalf of India’s millions of children, our partners, and all of us at Save the Children, I welcome you to our website. Our work is made possible because of the support and strength that patrons like you provide to us. And, we can’t thank you enough for that.

It gives me immense satisfaction and joy that we have been able to make a positive difference in the lives of more than 10 million children in the last decade. Every day – and particularly in times of crisis – we reach out to the most marginalised children and their families to help them survive, thrive, and learn. Each day, we strive to accelerate opportunities for our girls and boys so they can unlock their potential. In 2017 alone, we touched the lives of more than 22.75 lakh children.

Over the last few years, Save the Children has become a leading and credible voice for the children of India, working collaboratively with the Government and communities on the ground. Today, with presence in 19 states, we are one of the most trusted organisations that works for children. We are a “partner-of-choice” for some of India’s biggest corporates; they trust us to fulfill their social responsibility towards the country. In all our work, we are guided by the mantra: “Children First”.  And, we do whatever it takes to make a lasting difference in the lives of India’s most deprived children.

Child labour, lack of quality education, poor health, nutrition, water and sanitation, child abuse and natural calamities continue to severely endanger the future of lakhs of children in India. We realise that it is a tough road ahead, but, we’re confident that with the support of our donors, partners and patrons, we will continue our efforts to give a better future to Every Last Child. I hope you too will join us in this journey.

I welcome you once again.

With my deepest gratitude,

Bidisha Pillai
Chief Executive, Save the Children
