Partnership with Global Citizen India as Core Partners

Save the Children partnered with Global Citizen India as one of the core NGO partners with an aim to amplify children’s agenda within the sustainable development goals. Global Citizen is social action platform for a global generation that wants to solve the world’s biggest challenges. The platform aims to raise awareness about issues, take action on what matters most and join a community committed to social change. The partnership is rooted in the belief that we can end extreme poverty by 2030, because of the collective actions of Global Citizens across the world.

The Global Citizen anchors the Global Citizen Festival as annual high profile event, a culmination gala  that brings together musicians, world leaders, celebrities, businesses and champions to celebrate and showcase commitments for collective impact.

In their first ever event in India, Global Citizen Festival on November 19, 2016, Save the Children as a core NGO partner supported the action journeys on Identity for Children, Education and Gender issues, bringing our experience and expertise on children’s rights.

In terms of impact, 21 lakh action taken, 43,416 cr commitments made, 51.6 cr lives set to be affected

It is heartening to note that identity for children in street situation featured in Global Citizen India’s six months on accountability report. http://glblctznin.tgelf.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Accountability-Report-May-2017-FINAL2-LowRes.pdf

Partnership with Youth Ki Awaaz

Youth Ki Awaaz (YKA) with over 4 million readers, is India's largest, only and award-winning online platform for young people to express themselves on issues of importance. An ever expanding community of contributors, writers, thinkers, filmmakers, and photographers among many others, all find their own unique space on this platform. The partnership between Save the Children and Youth Ki Awaaz hinges on creating a platform for meaningful, sustained and engaging conversations/public engagement on issues affecting children.

Save the Children’s collaboration with Youth Ki Awaaz in the past has been around general election in 2014. The campaign #Vote4Children aimed at drawing people’s attention to issues of children, 40 percent of India’s population and to advocate for inclusion of child rights in political manifestos running up to the elections. https://www.youthkiawaaz.com/2014/04/heres-pledge-vote4children-won-indias-future-generations/

Our current ongoing campaign titled #TheInvisibles aims at raising awareness, build conversation and dialogue on the issue impacting children in street situation. The campaign aims at continuing the momentum with youth, general public and political leadership for a lasting impact for children on India’s streets, https://www.youthkiawaaz.com/TheInvisibles/
