Empowering Marginalised Girls Through Quality Education

The project provides access to girls from socially and marginalised communities to quality learning and encourages them to complete secondary level education in 7 districts of Rajasthan. Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) have been developed as learning resource centres for providing learning resources to hinterland primary and upper primary schools benefiting 6300 students.

Project Vishwaas

In close collaboration with the Medical Health and Family Welfare Department the project intends to reduce pneumonia specific under-five mortality in 60 wards of Tonk (Urban). The interventions include skill building of service providers such as medical officers, community health officers, ANMTC tutors and staff nurses; improving case detection and management at community and facility level; and evidenceinformed advocacy to enhance government’s commitment and resources for tackling childhood pneumonia. Rajasthan’s first Pneumonia Skill Lab has been established at district hospital of Tonk through the initiatives of this project.

Child Rights for Change

The project intent is to make Banswara a model Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) compliant district. This would benefit 3.8 lakh children from 674 villages in 142 gram panchayats in the district. More than 3000 functionaries at various levels in the government have been trained by the project.

Beyond Cash – Making Social Protection Deliver More for Children

The project is being implemented in Dungarpur district through- (i) ensure transparency and accountability to enhance access to social protection for marginalized families; (ii) develop child sensitivity around key social protection schemes especially Palanhar schemes and MGNREGS and (iii) provide cash plus benefit to poor families to reduce child labour, drop out and irregularity in school. A total of 35,462 persons are direct beneficiaries of the project.
