INCOME GENERATION PROGRAMME FOR VICTIMS OF GAJA CYCLONE IN TAMIL NADU

Nagapattinam is a district at the tail end of Kaveri which had been destroyed when the cyclone Gaja hit on 16th November 2018. Not only houses but also the plantations and the fishing boats which was the main source of income of the 16,16450 people living here was affected by these massive floods. We aimed at restoring their livelihood and ensuring that the rights of their children were upheld. Through financial support to household members of target groups, veterinary clinics for  treatment of livestock, and helping reclaim land for further cultivation, we impacted 2687 families in 10 villages covering a total population of 14416.
