SHUBH AARAMBH – 2.0

Every 25 seconds, a child under five years of age dies mostly due to preventable causes. At Bal Raksha Bharat, our goal is to provide them with training to help transform their attitudes towards living a healthy lifestyle. We aimed at changing the lifestyles of 7-14 year olds in government schools in Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. This means training not just the children but also their community in the importance of hygiene and healthy practices. With the help of teachers, government officials, and community leaders we have not only generated community awareness about hygiene and nutrition, we have successfully fostered 376 household kitchen gardens and 89 institutional kitchen gardens which is a very important step towards the nutritional well-being of the children.
