New Horizons

Through New Horizons, Save the Children supports the need for livelihood and social security schemes that enable girls’ safety. To accomplish this endeavour, the ‘New Horizons’ programme was launched and a huge event for community engagement in the rural and urban areas of North 24 Paraganas district of West Bengal was organised with the objective to sensitize the urban community on the importance of academic and vocational education and poverty eradication among young adults. Several sports activities were conducted including girls rally, slow cycling race, drawing & poster making competition along with a community quiz, which highlighted the girls’ safety-related issues. Noted government stakeholders from the Block and Panchayat were also present in support of the programme and also encouraged the participants with special rewards.
