South Delhi Municipal Corporation has certified Hamunam Camp and Indira Camp (Ward 59) as Open Defecation Free areas in Delhi. Both these slum clusters fall within the intervention area of Save the Children’s ‘Stop Diarrhoea Initiative’ project in the national capital. Our work in these areas revolves around promoting best practices on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in schools and communities. Save the Children has been working relentlessly towards addressing high incidence of diarrhoea. This includes conducting awareness drives and handwashing demonstrations. We have also set up Community-managed Toilets which benefit children and their families.
