  • Poshan Maah 2020

It is common for adolescent girls to suffer from anaemia. Lack of awareness about its symptoms and information about its prevention through dietary intake further triggers major health issues for many girls, especially ones from low-income households. As part of #PoshanMaah2020, our Delhi team conducted sessions with adolescent girls from slum settlements of South Delhi. The girls were explained how intake of affordable nutritious foods like chana, fruits, vegetables, jaggery, groundnuts, etc. can help prevent anaemia. #AdolescentNutritionMatters #RewriteTheNewNormal

  • Bal Raksha Bharat Learning Centre

Let the pandemic not bring children’s learning to a screeching halt. We’re ensuring this in our various interventions areas across India by reaching out to children who lack access to virtual learning. We’re grooming parents on easy methods of home-based learning, conducting enrollment drives and imparting basic learning lessons to children in our Learning Centres. The idea is to ensure that no child deviates from the path of learning in these trying times. Together we can #RewriteTheNewNormal and Protect a Generation. Show your support here: bit.ly/3mIFS4Z. We leave you with some glimpses of our work in Jharkhand and West Bengal. #SaveOurEducation

  • International Literacy Day

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” – Nelson Mandela
Since 1966, every year, the world observes #InternationalLiteracyDay on September 8. In the ongoing pandemic situation, it is essential, more than ever before, to mark this day with action-oriented efforts. Bal Raksha Bharat is ensuring the continuity of learning for children, especially those from vulnerable sections of the society, as online education is beyond their reach. With involvement from parents, School Management Committees, Reading Buddy programmes, we are making provisions for alternative learning opportunities for children so they can easily transit to formal school education once normalcy returns. #WorldLiteracyDay2020
