DO YOU KNOW THAT THERE ARE CHILDREN WHO DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT SCHOOL IS LIKE?

  • 17.7 million children in India are out of school, of which girls form a very large part. The actual number of children who don’t get quality and enabling education is much higher.
  • 20% of grade 2 children in India cannot recognize numbers between 1-9
  • A lot many schools lack the required infrastructure to retain students
  • 53% of children drop out of school at elementary level

These are just some of the statistics which show that a lot needs to be done to ensure that every child in India gets quality education.

Lakhs of children in India are being a denied a chance at enabling education and therefore a happy childhood, mainly because of who they are and where they are born. So many of them get pushed into child labour or get trafficked, thus losing the opportunities to learn. Save the Children works to bring this injustice to an end.

As per the Indian Income Tax Department's rules, a donor is required to add their address and PAN number in case they wish to receive the 80G tax-exemption certificate

We believe that every child, no matter who they are or where they come from, should grow up healthy. In 2020, 1.01 lakh children benefited from Save the Children’s Health & Nutrition Programmes.
