Children face different kinds of abuse but the worst form of abuse and atrocity is sexually assault on children. This creates stigma and a lifelong fear in their hearts and hampers their opportunities for development. Referring to reports, most of the child abuse cases happen within family and friend circle. Many times, the complaints of the child are dismissed by the family.

Looking at such vulnerable circumstances of children, BHAROSA, a one-stop service centre for protection and safety of children and Women requested Bal Raksha Bharat to make short films, focusing on the parents care and responsibility towards the safety and protection of children. BHAROSA is a state-of-the-art centre established by Hyderabad City Police.

Bal Raksha Bharat in collaboration with the Police Team developed the stories for Campaigning purpose to protect the children, as well as making the primary duty bearer (the parents) responsible for safety and protection of children. In this process, collectively Telangana Police, BHAROSA and Bal Raksha Bharat developed three short films (Girl Abuse, Boy Abuse and Abuse on Social Media) in 3 different languages (Hindi, Telugu & English). The films laid focus on attending and listening to children, reporting an abuse and legal enforcement.

Acclaimed Bollywood actor Tapsee Pannu came on board as the ambassador for the initiative and lent her voice to the films. These films were certified by the Censor Board of Film Certification for telecasting/screening in movie screens and electronic media. The Telangana State Film Development Corporation with directions from Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad will screen the films in around 170 theatres across Telangana state. These films were launched by the Hon’ble Home Minister, Sri. Nayani Narasimha Reddy and Mr. Anurag Sharma, Director General of Police (Telangana) and senior officials from the Home Department and Department of Women Development and Child Welfare in mid-2017.
