Pirkka-Pekka Petelius, Finland’s leading celebrity actor, director, producer, screenplay writer and singer recently visited Save the Children’s project areas in Dungarpur (Rajasthan). He interacted with the community members and children. He discussed with families that how they benefitted by Save the Children linking them to various social protection schemes of the Government. He visited Save the Children’s project schools in the area, conducted fun activities with children, danced with them and asked them about their issues. Mr Petelius captured his visit in short videos which he shot with the help of his crew. Children had an amazing time interacting with him. Mr. Prabhu Lal Damor, Principal of a Save the Children’s project school in the area said, “Most of the children here come from extremely humble backgrounds and face numerous challenges in life. It was the first time they enjoyed and laughed like this”.
Mr Petelius was amazed to see the way Save the Children has been working in the area, providing comprehensive social protection to children and wished that he could have spent more time with children in the area. The visit came as a part of Save the Children’s recently forged partnership with the Red Nose Foundation wherein the two organizations will roll out new projects in the most backward areas of Dungarpur, Rajasthan. The new project will focus on providing social protection to the most vulnerable children and preventing cases of child marriage, child abuse and child labour.
