As a part of a larger initiative one of the biggest issues that Kerala faces as an aftermath of the terrible floods of 2018 is that of cleaning up the spaces to make them hygienic and livable again. spearheaded by the District Collectorate in collaboration with various other humanitarian organisations on the ground for Kerala Flood Rehabilitation Response, Mission Clean Wayanad was undertaken on 3Oth August 2018.

Save the Children’s humanitarian response team with the earnest efforts of volunteers and cooperation of the local agencies managed to undertake the task at hand with flying colours. Save the Children cleaned two schools in Wayanad district (Kalpetta & Mananthavady), the initiative was followed by an educational session on ‘school and village safety’ attended by 650 school children.
