Children’s rights and their opinions are often left unheard in families, societies, communities and even by the government. It is crucial that children are cognizant of their rights, have the requisite knowledge and skills, which in turn can enable them to become Changemakers.

Under Bal Raksha Bharat’s ‘Adolescent Programing’, we have developed the Lalita and Babu Life Skill Education module to equip adolescents to be confident, communicate their issues better and strive to seek solutions.

This E-Module is based on the principles enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and follows an innovative, child-friendly and cross-thematic approach focused on empowering adolescent girls and boys to become agents of transformation.

Key components under the module are self-confidence, understanding and expressing feelings, empathy, respect, effective communication, gender rights, relationship, physiological and biological awareness, self-protection, early marriage, adolescent motherhood, health and role in the community.

Under 9 projects in 11 states of India, Bal Raksha Bharat has been able to successfully coach more than 100 core staff as pool of master trainers who further trained over 1000 local NGO staff and government stakeholders, 15000 Discussion Leaders (DL) and equipped more than 1.5 lakh children/adolescents/youth on life-skill education.
