Facebook Joins Save the Children in its Floods Relief Efforts

We thank Facebook for its effort in pledging support to raise funds for Save the Children’s relief operations in flood-hit parts of Eastern India. These funds will directly support our response efforts in Eastern States. The situation remains grave and now the floods have expanded to Assam, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. More than 827 lives have been lost and over 42 million have been affected.
Save the Children has already reached 7,867 beneficiaries, including 3,260 children and has pledged to reach 10,000 Households (60,000 adults, 24,000 children).
Funds raised through Facebook donation prompt, which went live today on 1 September 2017, will be matched by Facebook up to USD 1 million.
