The acceptance of daily punitive violence is symbolic of children’s status in our societies as possessions. Save the Children challenges all forms of corporal punishment, however light they may be. We believe that every child deserves equal respect for their human dignity and physical integrity. We work towards ending corporal punishment whether in schools or homes. It is not acceptable either by teacher or parents. We sensitise and equip teachers and parents in positive discipline techniques and instead of punitive discipline. Ending corporal punishment is an integral part of our inclusive education programme and our protection programming across 10 states of India.
