Save the Children

A NOTE FROM THOMAS CHANDY, CEO, SAVE THE CHILDREN

Wish you a very happy and a prosperous New Year. With every passing day, our commitment to child rights is impacting more and more children in India. Support from every member in our Save the Children family goes a long way in enabling us to take our work forward. Our teams across the country have been engaged in some remarkable work, but this is just a part of the long journey for India’s children. With this new beginning to a remarkable year, I am confident that we will continue to make a difference in the lives of children, but we also know that it is YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT that makes it possible.

Conditions in Shey Gogmas primary school in Leh are far from adequate, following the loss due to the flash floods.
Shey Gogmas is one of the targeted institutions for Save the Children's relief efforts. Children attending this school come from families with little disposable income. As a part of our relief efforts we distributed education kits to school going children across Leh.

BRINGING THE CHANGE

In December we were particularly grateful for the partnership with ECHO (European Commission Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection) as we successfully concluded a three-month partnership to bring relief to flood-affected families in Leh.

ECHO will now partner with us in building on our work over the past three years to provide legal, psychosocial and economic support to orphans and other vulnerable children in Jammu & Kashmir.
